About Christopher
If you walked into Christopher Davenport’s office today, you would find camera gear neatly placed near the door, to be ready to load into the truck at a moment’s notice, and book shelves lining the walls with just about every book imaginable on film production, direction, editing, writing, genealogy, history and personal biographies. The shelves also display every one of his documentaries and films produced over the last 14 years as well as the awards that accompany them. On the walls you would see pictures of Christopher with casts and crews of several feature films he worked on during his eight years at Warner Brothers, Tristar, MGM and other studios. Next to the multi-screened editing system, you would find Christopher himself. He will be going through footage looking for the perfect clip to tell the story or searching for the right music to set the tone for the upcoming segment. He is telling a tale in pictures and sound, moving viewers to cheers of encouragement or tears of empathy. He will be combining his passion for telling stories in film with his appreciation for the struggles and celebrations of an individual, a group, a community and even a country.
A short list of the many award winning films film on his bookcase show his direction:
“Letters to the Wall”, a documentary about the Vietnam Wall experience, “Bainbridge - Voices of an Island”, “Silverdale-Our History, Our Neighbors, Our Community”, “Mighty Mo - The Battleship USS Missouri”, “Tears of Gold –Gold Star Wives and the Men They Lost”. “The G.I. Bill”, commemorating the 60th anniversary of the G.I. Bill. “Honoring Our Elders,” - celebrating the Laird Norton family…...
Someday you will meet Chris. One of the first things you will notice is his piercing blue eyes and friendly smile. He’ll most likely be wearing a long sleeved button up shirt tucked in to a crisp pair of jeans. He’ll reach out and shake your hand. As you get to know him, you’ll find he is a serious thorough professional, and yet he laughs easily.
Filming with Christopher and his crew is always a memorable experience. Whether it is a 30 minute shoot or 30 day shoot, you will laugh often and smile more. On many occasions, one or all of the crew are invited back for social gatherings or a cup of coffee. After all, preserving history is about relationships, meeting and interacting with people. Chris and the crew look forward to meeting you.
Christopher will tell your story so that everyone who sees it will meet you.
